Western Army Ashigaru Kneeling Spearman
This Ashigaru Spearman (or Yari Ashigaru) is a foot soldier armed with the long spear (yari) that formed the backbone of feudal Japanese armies, especially during the Sengoku Period (from 1467-1603).
The Yari itself (Spear) was a long spear ranging from two to five metres in length, topped by a straight or cross shaped steel blade.
