‘Mounted Band of the 16th (The Queen’s) Lancers and two officers turned in the saddle all in Review Order’. 54mm solid metal gloss-painted toy soldiers from two unconfirmed makers.

Paul Simidas shared some images and information on some of hjis recent additions to his collection:
"This assembly of lancers, separately found and purchased in three discrete lots over several years, represents two mounted officers, a drum horse and rider, and fifteen musicians. One lot, purchased recently from Peter Nathan Toy Soldiers during their wonderful May sale, ride brown horses and perfectly complement my other musicians that ride riding black horses. These were purchased in a Sydney antiques shop. The two officers were a third purchase and special find overseas in Chicago..
The two officers are posed in ‘the turned in the saddle’ that was made famous by W. Britains.

They are made by different makers as the horses have slightly different poses. I think they are all by British makers but unmarked. Each figure and horse is a single casting. All are ‘stable-ready’ and appear on parade as and when their commanding officer decides. The gloss painting and 54mm scale make them compatible to display all together.
Sven and his team at Peter Nathan Toy Soldiers provide the best destination for serious collectors of classic 54mm gloss toy soldiers. Always something special.
Thank you,
Paul"
